Submission for lab2 (OSL)

Fill out the form below to submit your results for the OSL lab! Your fist and last name and your choice of title will be published automatically on a web page, with clickable links to the files you upload and an auto-generated image thumbnail. Nothing fancy, just the basics to present your work to the examiner and to other participants in the course.

The image must be a JPEG file, preferably of size 1024x768 pixels. If your thumbnail image is black after upload, the most likely cause of error is that it wasn't saved on JPEG format. Should this happen, resave the file on the correct format and upload everything again with the exact same email address as identification, and your old files will be overwritten with the new version. If something goes wrong and you want to remove some junk from the database, tell me (Stefan Gustavson) and I will fix it.

Please state your LiU address, not any private e-mail address you may have. You don't need to specify the suffix "@student.liu.se". If multiple persons are submitting joint work for grading, specify all your respective e-mail addresses using the format "stegu123, gabei456" separated by commas. Do not use slash, backslash or colon in any of the form fields below. My simple PHP script will be confused by it and yield the wrong result, because those characters are not allowed in filenames.

Your source code will most likely consist of one or two shader files. (displacement shader and/or surface shader). Please also include the 3dsMax scene file that generated the image, as well as any texture images you may have used (with your choice of file format and resolution). Package these together using some common archive file format (zip, 7z, rar, tgz), and upload it as "Archive with all source code". If you want to comment on anything, you can include a text file in your archive, but please consider writing such comments in the source code instead, to make it self documenting.

I apologize for the crude user interface for this submission, but I hope it works to your satisfaction. The maximum file size that is accepted is a few MB, because of limitations in the department's web server which I can't change. This should be enough if you save the rendered image as a JPEG of size 1024x768 with a reasonable quality. Texture images are harder to cram into the tight space, so don't go crazy with their resolution. In fact, you should seriously consider not using any texture images at all. I won't fail you over it, but should you find a need for a texture image, I suggest you work around the problem and do something slightly different instead.

Working and submitting in pairs is OK, recommended, and perhaps even necessary because of the space constraints in the course lab. If, however, you end up being more than two authors behind a submission, I would like to see some more ambition and care taken in finishing the assignment. If there are any doubts in any matter relating to grading, just contact me.
